m AUCTIONEERS' EEPORT. Messrs. FTemine and Hedley report that they held a sale of dairy cows, young stock, and draught horses, on account of Mr. Scott, and Messrs. Imrie and Gawn, on Saturday, at Cave Valley. There was a good attendance, and for the dairy cows there was a keen competition. Some of the very best cows, back from calving, sold at reasonable prices, but anything like fall milk, or cows at calving, commanded extreme rates. The whole of the cows and young stock were cleared at the following prices :—Good cows from LI 5 to LIS 10s : fair ordinary from LlO to Ll4, inferior from LS to L 9. Calves from L2 to L 4. Twoyear old heifers from L 5 to L 7 10s. The draught stock of Messre. Imrie and Gawn were""very superior, and for the youngsters specially there was good competition. Firstclass two-year old pedigreed fillies from L 75 to Ll2t): good mares from L7O to LSO ; good young geldings from LSO to L 55 ; ordinary from L3O to L 45. Messrs. Connell and Clowes report that they held their nsnal monthly sales of hides, skins, and tallow, at their skin store, Tynestreet, on Friday. The attendance of local and outside bnyers was good, and the bidding throughout was spirited. Bntchers' April skins fetched as follows :—Merinos, Is lOd to 2s : half-breds. 2s Sd to 2s 9d : dry ptation skins, 2s to 2* 9.1; fnll-woolled. 4s ffd to os Fd; hides, 17s to ISs 6d ; tallow, 2.{d to per lb. 2000 skins were catalogued. INVERCARGILL. [rtv telegraph.] April 27. There was an important sale to-day of properties belonging to the firm of Martin, MaitlanrT. and Co. "There was a large attendance. The National Mortgage Agency Co. purchased the wool store and fifift. frontage to the Crescent for L 3700; the office and premises (leasehold) were purchased by Mr. J. 0. Bain, of the Southland Times, at L 930.
