WEILINGTON. 1 April 29. The price of mittqn tallow should be 39s 6d, not 37s 6d| as given in Saturday's Loan and Mercantle Agency's telegram. AUCKLAND. ; ' April 27. One reason whj the native meeting takes place at Hikiirangi, is that grog will not be available there. The Kawhia and Aotea natives are going to Hikurangi. There have been fearful hurricanes at the New Hebridei. Houses were demolished, and som< sheets of corrugated iron were carried lalf-a-mile ; trees were uprooted, and the Drops destroyed. The natives are starving. The Charybdis, an Auckland vessel} is a total wreck. The schooner Ebenezer ]vent ashore. Meurant, the jockey, made a serious statement relative (o Mr. M'Gee, which will call for explanation. The horse Falcon has been disqualified from running for ever. A meeting of the creditors of Mark Somerville, grocer, Queen-street, has been held. Liabilities, L 3176 ; assets, Ll4lO. An offer of 5s in the £ was accepted. The meeting of Lewis Bros., creditors has been adjourned to May 14th, to allow the English creditors to be represented.
