NORTH OTAGO RIFLE ASSOCIATION.
| * I Sixteen members of the Association I tired this morning for the prizes given by I the Association for the usual monthly competition. The ranges were 200 and 500 yards : seven shots at each. Although the weather was favourable for good shooting, the light was indifferent, while the target was not good, owing to the | heavy rain which fell during last night. j Notwithstanding these drawbacks, how- ! over, the shooting was remarkably good, ! particularly that of Sergeant King, Sub- ] Lieut. Morn's, and Volunteer R. Harding. I Some of the young members of the Assojciation showed up very well, notably "Vol. i Scott, whose shooting was excellent, conI sidering that he has only recently joined i the noble band of marksmen. No less j than 4S members entered the competition i this month, including those resident at ; ( Hepopo. This shows that the interest in ' rifle shooting is greatly on the increase. ' A second squad has to tire this afternoon lat three o'clock. The following are the scores made this morning, including the i points allowed in the handicap, two points esiru. being conceded to those members
