YERY LATEST WAR NEWS. [Agent-General's Telegram:.] London, January 19. The Government have given notice of their intention to risk asking for a supplementary vote for a war contingency. Two morning papers have announced that Lords Derby and Carnarvon have placed their resignation in Earl Beaconsfield's hands. I have enquired further and believe that the report is true. It is said that the terms of peace have been signed between belligerents. The national liberal federation has invited all associated bodies to bestir themselves for preservation of peace. (keuter's telegrams, per press agency.) London, January 22. The announcement of the suspension of hostilities in Bulgaria was premature. An insurrection has broken out in Macedonia. Suleiman Pasha has retired on R.hodope. Sir Stafford North cote m Parliament stated that he was ignorant of the peace conditions proposed by the belligerents. January 23. The Queen personally telegraphed to the Emperor of Russia concerning the Sultan's desire for peace, and expressed a hope that every endeavor would be made to accelerate the suspension of hostilities. The Russians had occupied Adrianople when the preliminary negotiations for peace were commenced. January 24. The Russians have arrived at Kishai on the road to Gallipoli. A panic had broken out at the latter place. The St. Petersburgh semi-official journals state that the relations between England and Russia had improved. The Turkish Parliament has petitioned the Sultan not to agree to the conditions of peace if the Russian demands are exorbitant. The last accounts say that Suleiman was at Koliaha. January 25. Sir Stafford Northcote will give notice of motion on the 28fch for supplementary army estimates for India. The Porte has received from Russia the conditions of peace. Very harsh terms are proposed, including a heavy indemnity and occupation till it is paid. The Russians are now advancing upon Gallipoli. o ■ DIRECT AUSTRALIAN NEWS. [reuter's telegrams, per press agency.] Melbourne, February 1. An open air meeting in favour of Ministers was held yesternight. Several supporters of the Government addressed the crowd. A resolution was passed approving of the action of the Government; The roughs subsequently stoned the windows of the Athenceum Club where a member of the Opposition had shown himgelf.
