NORTH OTAGO RIFLE ASSOCIATION.
The January competition by members of this Association was commenced this morning, when 14 competed. The weather was not favourable for good shooting, the light being bad and a light wind blowing across the range from the right. The scores as a whole wore not, in consequence, so good as on some previous occasions. The ranges were—liOO, 400, and 000 yards ; five shots at each in any position ; Wimbledon targets. Those firing with carbines were allowed 4 points, other points being given to some of the competitors. A second squad fired this afternoon, but too late for us to obtain the scores. The following was the result of this morning's firing, the points allqwcd in the handicap being also.
