[fkom our own correspondent. J ❖ DUNEDIN. January If). The High School Board of Governors last night aecepted all the resignations of teachers in the Girls' School sent in to the Education Board. It was decided to ask Mrs. Burn to accept the Lady Principalship of the School, and in recommending her assistants for appointment to exclude the names of any who may be her relatives. The Board agreed to request Sir J. Vogel. Dr. Abbott, of the City of London School, and Dr. Morrison, of the Glasgow Univorsit.y, to select a Hector for the Boys' High School. Tairoa, M.H.R., was entertained at dinner at the Maori Kaik last night. 150 were present, fully half of whom were Maoris. The Jockey Club lias referred the question of Blue Peter's acceptance for the Dnnediu Cup and the Publicans' Handicap to the Aiistrnlu.ilau. Although Mr. Swansou's letter was received in the Dmiedin pnst-oiiiec on Saturday night. 12th inst., the Jockey Club did not obtain it till the Monday fallowing.
