In the competition for the Challenge Shield the Clntha Volunteers scored 2M : West Taieri, 231 ; City Guards and Bruce, 220 each.
The weather is beautifully fine. December 2(i. Sailed—Pareora, for London, with n. full cargo. A hitch lias occurred about the interprovincial cricket mateh with Canterbury. Our men decline to play earlier than February. Holiday-making is being freely indulged in to-day. Nearly everybody is out of town, the Waihola regatta and Friendly Societies 1 fete being the principal attractions. The weather is beautiful,
