Mr. Berry, in moving the vote for the payment of members, said it the Council dared to reject the Appropriation Bill, it would be sounding its own death knell, and their names would only be heard in history, but in future in no part of the legislation of the Colony. The vote passed the Assembly by 45 to 30. There is stated to be a majority of from 4 to 6 in the Council in favour of laying aside the Appropriation BUI. The Council laid aside the Armaments Bill by a majority of 20 to 2. Arrived —s.s. Northumberland (yesterday.)
