PARLIAMENT.

Wellington, November 21. In the House of Representatives yesterday afternoon,

Mr. Larnnch announced that the Ministry proposed to make the Land Fund Colonial revenue from the Ist January, 1878. The debate on the Financial Statement was commenced at the evening sitting by Major Atkinson, who spoke for nearly two hours, criticising Mr. Larnach's Financial Statement. lie said, as a whole, it was perfectly unreliable and illusory. He singled out a number of statements to show that Mr. Liruaeh was quite wrong, and had not mastered the affairs of the Colony. He expressed surprise that the Colonial Treasurer could have submitted such figures to the House, Sir George Grey followed Major Atkinson, and, without answering tue late Colonial J reasurer's assertions specifically, maintained tiie general correctness of Mr.

Larnach's statement. He condemned the finance of the late Ministry as a finance for friends, and for the benefit of the few and not for the people. Mr. M'Lean replied, and challenged Sir George Grey to prove an instance of the late Ministry benefitting friends.

On the motion of Mr. Slieehan the debate was adjourned until Thursday, and the House rose at 12.4~> o'clock.
