October 22. The German barque Marie, sugar laden, from Mauritius, arrived at 7 p.m. yesterday. She brings 533 bags, 300 of which are forDunedin, and the remainder for Lyttelton. She left Mauritius on the Bth September, and carried S.E. trades to lat. 27.5, and tlfen experienced 48 hours' calm. Had light winds from E. to N.E. till 17th inst. In lat. 36 S. picked up westerlies, which held right across the Southern Ocean. Met occasional heavy gales, and passed Cape lieu-

win on October 7th, when she encountered strong N. and W. gales. Passed to. the northward of the Snares on the 18lh, and made her first land-fall yesterday morning off Cape Saunders. She was driven off the land by a S.W. gale, and worked back last night.
