WALKING HORSE SHOW.
The annual Walking Show of entire horses took place to-day at the ground belonging to the North Orago Agricultural and Pastoral Society. There were a fair number of entires of various clashes, and the majority appeared to be in most excellent condition. Several horses were on view that had not been entered at the advertised time. The afternoon was fine, an.l there wero about two hundred visitors. It was un* fortunate that the day selected for the show clashed with the Waitaki Races, or the attendance would doubtless have been much larger. Of the thoroughbreds, Pertobe was without doubt the mo3t noticeable ; he was in good fettle and looked "every inch " a racehorse. His pedigree is indisputable. Splutter the Dew is too light to our fancy, and his condition did not reflect credit on him. Topth >rn is a first-class hack sire, and was the best-conditioned horse on the ground. Goldfinder and JMimrod are botn splendid horaes and suited either for hack or harness.
The former is a well-shaped iron-grey, very picture of an English rofcditor, farmers should not overlook him. ,
Amongst the draught horses that call special notice we must place Young Bant tne property of Mr. Jas. Donaldson, was imported about two yeara ago by X thew Holmes, Esq. He is a magnil'n dark dappled bay, 3 years off. Intend breeders should not over look this spleii horse. In our opinion ho was the gouii animal on the ground. Next comCB William Wallace. He is nlso a maguilic l>av, perfect in every point, but soincw smaller than Young liankcr, but a splun draught fire. In the opinion of many the visitors Sir William Wallace took | ccdcncc for p'i le of place. Renfrew Jock is al o a fine horse, and \ in good condition. lx>rd Stanley is a bom fill dappled grey, of the Clvdc*dale bri> and was much admired. He is by You Hero, out of an imported rnaro. Hcatl Jock is a fine up-standing horse, and wan good condition. There were about 18 ontil oil the ground, and the show altogether ™ very creditable to Oamam. | The following were the entries ■ 1 MIAUOIIT HOIISKH. 1 Mr. J. M'Millan'H Renfrew .lock J Mr. O.
