WHOLESALE BUTCHERY OF CHRISTIANS IN TURKEY.
Sydney, August 15. The Herald's special, dated London, August 11th, says: —"The Daily News' correspondents at Bucharest report a wholesale butchery of the Christians south of the Balkans, by the Turkish troops, incited by merchants and landed proprietors. Tn the Archipan district, thirty churches and five hundred schools and colleges have been burnt, and 12,000 to 15,000 Bulgarian fugitives massacred, or burnt in their houses. A Turkish Bey was personally engaged in the work. The slaughter has been confirmed by the correspondent of the Times, with harrowing details. a
