August 9. The Public Works Statement will be given to-morrow night. The following vessels have arrived at London:—From Melbourne—Essex, Cardigan Castle, Loch Long. From Sydney —Buckley Castle, Duke of Sutherland. From Wellington—Adamant, Rakaia. From Dunedin —Hurunui, Waitara. From Lyttelton—May Queen. August 10. Mr. Thomas reports prices as follows : Flour—Adelaide, L 23 to L 24 ; New Zealand, LIS to LIS 10s ; oats, 4s Gd ; bran, Is 4d ; pollard. 7s Gd ; -wheat, 43 Gd ; hams, 9d ; bacon, Bid ; cheese, 8d ; potatoes, L 3 10s to L 3 15s ; maize, 4s 6J.
