SUPREME COURT.

Invercakgill, June 11

In the Supremo Court, to-day, the Grand Jury found true bills against John Monaghan, charged with murdering Charles Calderwood ; Charles Wells, wifestabbing ; John Ritchie, stabbing ; John Burns, cattle-stealing ; Frederick Middleton, burglary. Middleton was found guilty, and remanded for sentence. Ritchie and Wells were acquitted by the petty jury. Machaihland, a witness in Ritchie's case, did not appear when called on, and the Judge ordered his recognizances—Lso—to be estreated. The Grand Jury made a presentment on the

sittings of the Court here, and regretted that a similar presentment, made before previous juries, had not been recognised. The Judge concurred, and promised to forward it to the proper authority. Monaghan will be tried to-morrow.
