M. CARME'S BILLIARD EXHIBITION.
M. Garma, the French biltiard champion, is now in Dunedia, and in yeater(lay's• &nitrduM we find the following account of his first exhibition : The champion player matched himself against Mr. A, Cameron, who received 400 points out ut 600, M. Ganne started with a single uannon, and then broke down. His nest break was 17V and then 22. Mr. Cameron made four, and the champion ran op hid score to- IOoV After a few breaks of fours itnd eights he made a splendid break of UiO, during which he displayed great command over the balls, bringing them together in a most astonishing manner. His snore now stood at 23t»; Cameron. 41b". Th» game was very shortly called—M. Curmw, 400 ; Mr. Cameron, 428. In the noxt break the campion made 78. After A few small br«aks the game stood : *t. Carmtv 538 ~. Mr. Cameron, 4i>l. In the next break the champion reached liis sixth hundred, his opponent only suoring &>. The time taken was only l'> minutes. There was then an interval of fcive minutes, after which M. Carmw* displayed his skdl with the cue by giving an exhibition of some* extraordinary fancy shots, whicli to describe woutd be almost impossible.. One which elicited loud applause from the audience may be briefly (Inscribed as follows -.—The marker stands nt one side of the table with a belt on his head ' y the red ball is- placed on the handle, and the champion makes a cannon off the "thor two balls on the tabte, removing the hall from the belt without disturbing the 'utter. The exhibition of fancy shots, which lasts fatly half an hour, is brought to- a close by having fifteen bottles ptaced '>n the table about a foot apart. The champion- then rnpidty etrives with the cue deven balls in and oat of the bottles without touching them, the balls all making into one corner of the tabte. To anyone interested in bißiards, the exhibition from to end is a most enjoyable one, and is well worth witnessing.—To-night }k* dames Neabit, who was so successful in beating the English champion in the i Temperance Halt, is t& play M.
