[PER PRESS AGENCY.] - Wellington, Thursday. ARRIVAL OF THE WAKATIPU. The Union' Company's new steamer Wakatipu arrived this morning. She leaves for the South at three to-morrow afternoon. SIR JULIUS VOGEL. Sir Julius Vogel has postponed liis departure for a week, his health not permitting him leaving by the Ringarooina. THE WANGANUI ELECTION. Mr. Fox has a majority over Mr. Morgan in the different polling places. According to the returns in, Fox is 252, and Morgan 154. Mr. Fox is certain of being returned by a large majority. New Plymouth, Thursday. THE IRON SAND. Blanchard, the furnace-keeper at tlie Iron Sand Works, reports that the blast was finally stopped at three o'clock yesterday afternoon, and at 4.35 it was left quite clear at the bottom of the crucible, tt is now admitted here, on all side 3, that the experiment l:a3 been a decided success.
