The " Star" says, on the authority of Captain Cargill, that it is exceedingly problematical whether the Australia will visit this port again. GREYMOUTH COAL COMPANY. A meeting of shareholders in the Greymouth Coal Company was held yesterday, and adjourned to Tuesday next. No business was transacted, owing to the small attendance. DUNEDIN HARBOUR BOARD. The Harbour Board recommend the immediate prosecution of the dredging scheme of the Engineer. THE CARNIVAL. As a result of the Carnival, the Benevolent Institution will invest £2,000 in securities. THE OUTWARD MAIL. The shipment of the Australia's mail was very hazardoTis work. She had to lay outside a couple of miles. DEATH OF AN OLD SETTLER. Dr. Purdie, one of the oldest settlers, is dead. CHANCELLORSHIP OF THE UNIVERSITY. Sir John Richardson lias resigned the Chancellorship of the University. FIRE AT SAWYERS' BAY. Barrowman and Nordclifle's Saw Mill, Sawyers' Bay, was destroyed by fire last night. The fire originated from sparks from the furnace catching shavings. The building Avas insured for £4OO in the New Zealand and Victorian offices. Total loss, £1,300.
