HOW TO REMEDY TROUBLE
CO much trouble is experienced with ■ having the.battery. show low gravity that few car owners ever consider the danger m having the battery register too high. • Often high gravity is caused by j adding electrolyte ' or acid when the situation calls for distilled water alone. Except when there is a special reason to increase the acidity of •_ , the solution in -the cells, distilled , water only should be added to makeup for evaporation. High gravity may be a chronic affair traceable to the use of electrolyte with the wrong gravity at ' the time when the battery was put into service. Such mistakes often get by. because owners do not usually test the cells when the ear or battery is new, assuming everything to be m order. A careful balance of the electrolyte m each cell' will remedy the high gravity situation.
