BIG WEIGHT
He Is Right Horse To Carry It (From "N.Z. Truth's" Christchurch Rep.) T JSTJALLY regarded as a curtain- | raiser for the Winter Cup, the Brabazon Handicap this year fails m its purpose, as only eight of the thirty Winter Cup W'U! be saddled up on Saturday. Of this eight, one only is being serij ously mentioned: in the -betting for the big mile handicap, so the betting market is not likely to. be disturbed unless there is an unusual turn up m. the Brabazon. _ . - If Toxeuma has a chance m the Winter Cup with 11.5 (and he is* being backed with that' weight) he must have a. royaller with only four pounds more m a stone weaker company, y Silver Paper and' Aspiring. Have not been long up and can hardly be at their best, while The Raider;" since coming from the north, has not gone like a winner. Royal Opera's recent form" is not impressive, and Limosin, started on the first day only at Trentham, closed up quickly m the " Stewards' Handicap. If he showed anything like his autumn form he would be tough m this field. Frank ciaridge will provide two runners m Rascal and Starshooter. The formpr will be better suited by the distance, as Starshooter likes it longer. Lord Thomond and Hounslbw are the only two near the minimum which can be included m the possibilities, and of this pair Lord Thomond is the better, though he must have it firm. Though burdened with a good horse's weight, Toxeuma looks ihe class, and Rascal, from the middle of the handicap, will alio runwtH.
