On the other hand, . Varsity attacked down the right with nice, short passes, which repeatedly left the blacks' rearguard standing. From one of these. Spence-Sales sent In, a nice shot which goalie Moore had no chance of keeping out. After Wesley's good display of the previous week, they were .generally expected to account for V.M.C. A. However, after leading early m the second spell by 2 goals to • nil, the Young Men came with a late rush and put on 6 goals, while Wesley failed to add to v the}r tally. For V.M.'I Falconer, Butler and Gibbings shone out m defence, while Meade Ferguson and McDonald gave a really good exhibition of combined efforts when on attack. , The Wellington-Hutt game was ragged, far too much wild hitting being indulged m. , . Hutt were leading 2-1 until a few minutes of time, but Bob Lusty put m a great shot for Wellington to even the scores.
