(From "N.Z. Truth's" Nelson Rep.)
YV7AIMEA and Rivals supplied the menu W at Trafalgar < Park on Saturday, and after a ragged game they left the field quits 3-3. •■"■•-. ' '"•:■■'.
For , Waimea, Bird -in •■ the forwards stood head and shoulders above the rest. He knows how to get the ball from the line-outs. ' ' ■
Lusty and Hart are a pair of toilers, the former gaining Waimea's only try. Brook, at half, shirked nothing and got the reds out of many a tight ■ corner. Cyril Watson gave one of the best exhibitions of defensive work seen at Nelson this year. What a great f uil-back he would make, for the reps; Gillespie at centre has- tons of speed, he made some, nice openings, but should remember that wild passes often lead to trouble. , ■ ■ '.'■■;
, Fowler, the reds' full-back, was very safe. Byrne and Crudis were Rivals' best forwards, .with: Howatt and Sommers not far behind.
Ginger Gibbons was doing it right m patches. Glover played a great game m the backs, often turning defence into attack with brilliant straight runs.
