NO NEW BLOOD

Dunedin Is Looking For Talent (From "N.Z. Truth's" Dunedin Rep.) MO new talent will be seen dribbling the *" round ball on Dunedin grounds during the coming season. Some of the clubs are finding difficulty In arranging well-balanced and experienced teams, and the call Is going out for recruits. Old followers of the Soccer code are being enticed to join up with the active members of the clubs. But Soccer last season was sufficiently bright and keen ajs to indicate that the code will be as strong this year. Many men new to senior football stepped out last winter and they, will .be benefited by their experience. A factor which should make the season a good one Is the harmony which now' exists between the clubs and the old days of quibbling seem to be over. Seacliff, winners of the championship last season, will come out at full strength. Rumor has it, though, that McCormack and Munsie are handing m their resignations from the club to rejoin Northern! but the Gardens club will probably not be wjlling to welcome them back to the fold, and they will again wear the blue Jersey. A hard row will be hoed by Mornington. Its ''star," Archie Munro, who was injured last season after being selected. for the representative eleven, has gone to India. His departure has left the club without a captain and a centre-half. V.M.C.A. is m a worse position, as it has no junior teams, to draw from, and the team will be no stronger than it was last season. A notable defection is Ostler, the goalie, who will stand down, under doctor's orders. Provided they strike form early, the MoKgiel boys will be dangerous contenders for the leadership, particularly as no changes of any -consequence are reported to take place m the constitution of the Taieri team. Krratic form has marked T.echnical's games, and with Holden missing from between their sticks, the Old Boys will have to play more steadily and consistently if they are to reach J:he finals. Holden's bad knee will keep him on the side-line, which ' Is bad luck for the greens. • Another notable absentee will be Proctor, but Murray will strengthen the halves, after being absent from the Soccer field for two years. The shooting man this season will be Middlemass, and a. new man m Armstrong will play on the wing or m the halves. Plenty of*" halves but no forwards are available from Junior ranks to strengthen the High School Old Boys team, and the weakness m the van will possibly mean that the black-and-white colors will not be prominent again this coming winter.
