POPULAR POSTMASTER
IT is a long step from the centre of the King Country down to Balclutha, but the many Ohakune friends who gave Otto List a handshake and a word of congratulation oh his transfer to a more important office, are not likely to forget the man, who, during his six years' stay as postmaster at the mountain village, became one of the headlights m public affairs. In all branches of sport he was always a keen supporter, and like all good country postmasters made himself a popular figure on the local bowling green. Whether or not "0.L." will like Balclutha has ydt to be seen, but as Bure as there is red on a letter-box — Balclutha will like him.
