HELPS "DOWN AND OUTS"

WHEN a city missioner sleeps out m the Auckland Domain at night , just to sample what : . it is like, some folk might say that he's simply staging a stunt. But the Rev. Jasper Caider was merely weaving another purple patch into the warp and woof of his human experience and knowledge oC "underdogs," "undorfeds" * and "down' and outs." . The missioner has' just opened a doss"-house; a night shelter for the flotsam and jetsam he has retrieved from the spume of unemployment and adversity. And he propels towards them plates of -steaming food rather than chunks of advice. He mfiy never wear a. bishop's mitre ••ind stole, but he will at least earii the accolade of "well done" from the lame dogs he's hoisted over the stile!
