THE WRONG NUMBER
WHEN you ring the family butcher to order the week-end roast of mutton, make a point of seeing you're on the right number..'' It. pays! Came a buzz of the telephone at a business house recently — direct through to the managing director. "Mrs. Blank speaking. Send me round a nice leg, please, early." "We don't dissect the body, madam," said the listener. "What! Who's that speaking?" came back the female voice over the wire. Sep.ulchrally — the answer: "This is the morgue, madam!" Bang!!!!! The practical joker was W. J. Braemar, until recently managing director of the British Film Service m New Zealand. W..T.8. had been troubled with enquiries for butcher's meat from that same feminine voice before. Bra.eniar severs his connection -with the B.F.C. because he has many large - fish of his own to fry. In the course of a day or two the whips will be cracking from his new suite of . offices m the capital.
