Erratic Steering
POR some time past, Walter Rosingrave has earned a crust at the wheel of the Mount Magdala laundry* van, but he will have to find another job m future. Walter went driving with two friends on a recent > evening m Christchurch, and, unable to curb that schoolboy appetite, they pulled round to Cashel Street to that midnight mecca of the liungry where the favorite dish is pies and peas, with the coffee ad lib. The» erratic course that Walter steered en route, however, attracted the attention of a constable, who found that Walter had been drinking more than was good for a young Australian of 27 years. That halt for supper proved an expensive one. It cost Walter £10, and he was ordered to hand m his driver's licence.
