NOT DEAD YET

Moa Bird Shows 'Em How A c«rtatfi section of tha facing fraternity were pleased on Satur^ day night that the moa is not extinct. , WITH Faitonu home first m the big " handicap, getting out of the double did not appear too bright — but once again something turned up. The "books" have it on Micawber for something turning up! The turn-up was Moa Bird, a very smart sort of filly, which just made the opposition look like goats over the final half -furlong. To date Moa Bird has been very difficult to follow and it would seem that she is something like Centrepiece was**— a second- day horse. The first day at Wanganui she had a look at the barrier when it lifted— and that can't be done If one wants to win at Wanganui. On Saturday she was anything but well away at the barrier rise and it was not till the straight was reached that she came into the picture. A furlong from home several looked to have a chance, but with the post only a- hundred yards away, Moa Bird was m front and doing what the moa could not do — flying! Looks like Moa Bird will be a bit of a nuisance over a seven-furlong and a mile course. Woods' Great Peppermint Cure For Influenza Colds.*
