PAYNE'S WALLOP AGAIN
Game As A Pebble, Billy Harms Is Toppled Over (By Cable.— From "N.Z. Truth's" Special Sydney Representative.) MEGRO "TIGER" PAYNE walloped his way to another quick win on Saturday night last at the Stadium. Billy Harms, of South Africa, was the offering this time, and lasted but two rounds with the colored hitter. Harms was just another mouthful for Payne, but he took a little more chewing up than a few that preceded him. ..... jx U He walked out m the opening round to do or die. He died, and the audience appreciated the game manner m which he did so. Payne tried to fend him off with a left m order to swing a right to the head, but Harms bustled m and pelted a couple of vicious blows at the body. . , "Tiger" jumped into top gear immediately and swung some awful punches. Harms went with him and the crowd went mad. Late m the session Harms half punched, half wrestled Payne to the floor, but the negro was up immediately. He tossed caution to the winds and scores of right-handers whistled by Harms' head. One caught him, and down he went for nine seconds. He rested, and then rose wearily. The second round saw him dead on his feet, Payne's hitting demoralized him, and after surviving a couple of clinches he was propped up for a smashing right to the mouth, and that knocked him cold. Payne is the best hitter for his weight seen here for some time, but is wild and woolly/and misses too much to be classed as a potential cham--6n Friday night at Leichhardt, Lachie McDonald meets Ted Monson. The bout was postponed a week on account of Monson being a victim of tcwth trouble. . ■ A
