ADDINGTON ASPIRATIONS

Canterbury Park Minor Events

Provide Good Fields

(By "The Toff.")

Canterbury trotting enthusiasts will be at home at Addington on January 2 and 3, the occasion being- the summer fixture of the Canterbury Park Trotting Club.

PARTICULARLY good entries have i been received for each of the

events and even after allowing for a thinning- out on acceptance day, good fields should take the track for each event.

A number of unhoppled trotters will line out for the Introductory Handicap.

Sarsaparilla is the best of the front- markers, but Kempton and Fairlight should be in front of him at the finish.

If Nelson Ata went right all the way it wouldn't be a race.

Sadie Huon, Roldena and Neerson will give a lot of cheek off the front of the Templeton Handicap and anything that can catch them deserves to win.

For the Lyttelton Handicap, Yoicks and Theckla Boy will be well fancied, but if Mate o 1 Mine is any good he should beat them.

Judged by the improved way he has been racing, Nelson McKinney should go well in the Stewards' Handicap.

If Native Star competes she may win.

Aside from her, Tamerlane and Swiftbine might do best.

Judged by his New Brighton displays, Kotuku Jack will make the others sit up in the Islington Handicap.

Of the back-markers, Harold Thorpe and Terence Dillon will give most cheek.

Gibraltar might go a good mile in saddle, tiut Ayr looks a better proposition.

Zenith and Vestas are also speedy. Then there is Kulnine.

Ayr is also engaged in the Au Revoir Handicap, in which Searchlight Lad, Huon Denver and Donside will be a nuisance.
