The Fur Trader
NO, not the name of a best-selling "outdoor" story. The fur trader merely reflects the normal avocation of W. Menere, the small and busy man who is apt to fly past you m his high-powered limousine m Christchurch at any time of day. Menere is the male side of the dual furrier concern known to the world literally as Madame Menere and Co., Ltd. Where m New Zealand, for instance, have Madame. Menere, her husband and that wonderful dog, "Elmo," not become known? The Menere menage makes a regular annual pilgrimage to distant parts and invariably drops on the Big Game en route. Madame is a great shot with a rifle herself and her husband is a master with rod, gun and line. The savage quadrupeds of India and Canada have reason to dislike the name Menere, but the world of fashion looks upon a thousand or two-thou l sand guinea coat from the Menere concern as a move towards sartorial distinction. Hail, the Meneres!
