Call Him "Wig"
SOMEWHERE between the east and west coasts of the South Island is quite a high hill known as Mount Cook — the pride of New Zealand and the glory of a, certain gentleman named Wigley. "Wig." is the boss-chief of the Mount Cook Motor Co., Ltd., and head serang m the Hermitage, that modern home away from home patronized by people who go to climb Mount Cook; but who, on arrival at the Hermitage, decide that a pair of good field-glasses save a. great deal of totally unnecessary travelling. Wigley has the rare art of making people feel at home. An evening at the Hermitage is one to be happily remembered for years to come. No matter if you're just plain Bill Smith and saved up for a year to make your holiday possible, or if you happen to be Lord Something-or-other, Wigley makes you feel at peace — even with your creditors. With the mountains sparkling m the moonlight and Wigley relating some of his exceedingly interesting experiences, the world seems a pretty fair place after all. Truly, the man who described "Wig.'s" Hermitage as being "thousands of feet above worry level" wrote better than he knew.
