He met his match m the 220 yds sprint when Johnston raced away from him. . \ \ . /_■. Johnston is going to make a name for himself on-the track. The Auckland centre decided to hold the N.Z. championships on February] 10 and 12. - Wellington and Canterbury ' suggested February 11 and 12, but Auckland would not give way, and then without the consent of the N.Z. Council changed. the day to February 12, making it a one-day meeting^ Then m poured more protests, Otago joining m and- supporting Wellington arid Canterbury m a definite claim, for a two days' meeting. . The position now is that heats will : be run at 5 p.m.; on the Friday preceding the meeting, thus providing the public with, a free show. ■; In future'the. centres, should = /agree to 'make this, meeting a compulsory two-day affair. ■
