Three Races For Them
There are three races for qualified hunters at Riccarton on Satur- ■ day. The first event will be the Kennels Hurdle®, and. the North Islander Revel is asked to carry 12.1. THIS is a big lump of weight for the 1 little fellow, and he may fail, but - • the fact of the weaknessvof the opposition cannot be overlooked. Mainspring is the best of the others, but she may not be asked to > contest this event. -So it will >haye, to ( be Revel. . , ■■•■ ■ :. The Hunters' Plate will depend a deal on the riders. Rory O'More and April Showers were m the limelight last week, and perhaps it will be wise to stick to them. . ; In connection with these . hunters' races it will be worth noticing how they fare at acceptance time. They generally provide the poorest fields of the day. R, J. McTAVTSH recently stated. that • he will again be taking on hurdle riding,. and it is likely that he will be seen aboard Peter Maxwell and Rangatahi down south. i "Mac." has ridden over obstacles m the past.
