WORKS WELL
Celerity 11. For Timaru SIX FURLON^ CHANCES (From "Truth's" Special Christchurch Rep.) Celerity 11. must have had a seizure during the running of her race at Riccarton. Her work is too good to allow anyone to think that that was her true form. She is m at Timaru, so we will soon see. The distance is. six furlongs ana with 8.4 on her back it should be a jog- for her. Wanganui Whispers (By "HalloAvmas.") Elysianor will be handy at the finish of tho Trial Plate at Feilding to-day. ■ . *.■#■ * Enthusiasm's track work makes her appear to bs nearly back to her best form, consequently she is likely to run well m the Feilding Cup to-day. Followers of Tilley's stable, are looking to Tukia to win the Flying event at Feikling to-day. ■ * * . a If well handled to-day at. Feilding Some Red's backers will get a good run for their money m the Kiwitea Welter. * . * # Those who saw Horomea racing at Trcntham will be quite prepared to see her taking a hand m the settlement of the Fitzroy Hack handicap. * =:;• - * Though short o£ a race, at Ellerslie recently, Anklet was with the leaders most o£ the distance. She has improved a good deal since then, and a race might come her way at Feilding. *##■ ■ ■ , Attractive has been left m the Flying and the' Welter events at Feilding to.day. ' . * * * Santiago has a bruised heel, "but may run m the Waituna Hurdles at Feilding. * * tf Tamatete will show to-day that he can go five furlongs nearly as fast as ever, but he will need to if Deluge is able to do his best. * # # The Thorn is improving with every gallop and he looks like winning some good races for Mr. Geo. Currie. * # # Those who have seen Mask at work recently will be quite prepared to see him prove capable of running a big race m the Derby. The Dimonds have jyet to prove themselves over a distance, but if appearances go for anything then Mask should makq gbod. ** ' * Lysander has improved wonderfully since he met Commendation at Trentham. He has fined down remarkjably and no better looking colt has been seen for many a day. , * * * Motley has not been paid up for m the Flying event at Feilding to-day, 'tyat will be a starter m the Orua Stakes on Monday. The Absurd-Pennon mare is m great fettle, and Will' keep tho brilliant Tamatete very busy. * #■■'•* Deluge has been sore recently but if he is; free of the trouble to-day he will make a'bold bid m the Feilding Stakes. * # # Gaillard did no good at Riccarton. He is m the weight-for-age events at Feilding, and is to run m the Stakes to-day. * • * • # The plough track on the Wanganui course has never been satisfactory to trainers, as instead of affording soft and safe going it has been hard m places and liable to jar horses exercised on it. It is to be widened and fresh soil put m to make it perfectly safe.
