EMPRESS THEATRE.
Can it be done? Some say yes, others say no; those who are cautious refuse to give an answer. They don't know whether a wife can be educated or not. "Treat 'em rough; beat 'em once m a while; don't spoil them with kindness," is the way the apostles of force phrase it, and point to the Russian peasants, who have to be beaten once m a while by their hubbies to be convinced of their love. Elinor Glyn's ideas on the subject have been embodied, into 'a 'story, and the story ■has been embodied into a picture by the name of "How to Educate a Wife." screening at the Empress this week. A wonderful stellar -cast has been assembled', headed by Marie Prevost, Monte Blue, Claude Gillingwater, Betty Francisco, Creighton Hale and Nellie Ely Baker. Also screening is a merry comedy entitled "The Detective," an interesting "Movie ■ Chat," and the latest Topical Budget. :
