THE STRAND.

The big problem play "Why Girls Leave Home," after a brilliant week at the' Bang's, will head the Strand bill this week. This picture is filled with dramatic ingredients. The notes of sympathy, cruelty, love, sentiment, mother-love, pathos and humor are finely balanced here— notes which are duly emphasised and given exceptional expression by a cast that includes "such favorites as Anna Q. Nilsson, Maurine Power, Julia Swayne Gordon, and Kathryn Perry. There is a valuable lesson to be gained from the moral and there is no. question of its appealing to every class of picturegoer. Also on the bill is "Peaceful Valley," with Charles Ray. It ls one of Ray's best — a drama touched with a (pleasant humor.
