Left m the Lurch.
Martha Wood (Mr. Donnelly) petitioned fpr a decree ngulnst Edward Thomas Wood, who was alleged -to havo deserted her and the only child m April, 1910, when they were living at Woodond. When ho wont away ho morely said hs was going to look for work, but he had apparently taken six years to find It, for Martha had not seen htm since, neither had ho . contributed towards tho support of her child or herself. In 1918 Martha wont to the Court for a maintenance ordor ugnlnst Kdward, but the police had not been able to find him. The clerk of the Chrlatchurch S.M.s Court corroborated the bit about tho maintenance order and tho slxteen-year-old daughter of the couplo bnckod op what her ma had said about pa clearing out A decree was handed down.
