Boost for Burnham.

/ From Bench and Bar. (From "Truth's" Chrlstchuroh Rep.) . Incidental to the case concerning a hoy from the Burnham Industrial School, "Mr? T. W. Stringer, K.C., addressed the Supreme Court on Friday, pointing out that an inspection of the institution's records for the last ten years showed that there had been only three cases of sexual offences committed by escapees. His Honor Mri Justice Denniston expressed his' pleasure on hearing the statement, and said, that, notwithstanding the fact that Burnham was often the subject of considerable comment, the authorities of the institution deserved congratulation on such a re-, cord, which was the more creditable when the class and number of boys dealt with were taken into consideration. Burnham was carrying on a useful work, m the Dominion, and it was pleasing to have tangible evidence of such work, especially m view of the remarks recently made m the North Island concerning the institution. —
