SABBATH BREAKERS.
Constable Lipseorob, of Newmarket, had a 'field day amongst the Celestials, and presented two siant-eyed Orientals named Yet Gee and Ah Cooey on a charge of having followed their ordinary vocation on Sunday, March 27. He told his story, and Yet Gee, who appeared for both the accused, preserved a sl-oKd silence during the recital. "Do you understand English ?V askedMr Cuttcn. ie No,npt much," simpered the Chow. /'Do, you understand that you are m a British community and must obey the laws ?"— Yet Gee shook his pig-tailed toppiece. "Then you will understand a fine of 5s each and costs." Yet dived into his mould-stained dungarees, rattled the stiver, and left the court smiling. -
