A UNIQUE CHARGE.

At five minutes past two on the morning of last Sunday, a young fellow was found lying on the footpath m High-' street, Dunedin, m a state of great shikkurirosity. He was so glorious that he had to be taken to the station on a shutter. Before going, to. the station, however, the man "left a lot of little thiugs behind him" m the shape of material of his most recent meals,- which had been forced out of his mouth by reason of the large cargo of sbikkur he had loaded. At the Dunedin Police Court on Monday, before Magistrate Bartholomew, • the man .was charged with muzziness and casting offensive matter m a public place. Mr J. B. Nichol appeared for accused, and pleaded hard for him m view of his being a young married man with three children. He also said that the vomiting wouldn't be called an offence, as it arose out of the drunkenness, and he further .stated that he had never previously heard of such a charge. The S.M. said, ih view of accused being a first offender, that the charge of should be withdrawn, unless there was something particularly gross about it. As it was merely a case of "a heart too full for words" this Was done, and a fine of a crown for blitfoeiosity was passed out.
