JIM THE MILKER.
Yer would see 1 that owing to the scandolous demands of the landlords Wellington must suffer. , I refer to the reclamation of Evans Bay. The Harbor/ Board very promptly told them (the landlords) that they would tie no party to. such rookery. To Kennedy McDonald is ' due great credit, also Mr Fletcher. The solid fact "is that landlords m New, Zealand are just as bad as they are m the old world, grab, grab, give to me yea even as the horse leech they are never satisfied. Yet is is sad that a fair city like Wellington should he ruined by the scum of the earth. All: progress is stopped and there is no- remedy, yer cant tutch them, power is on the side, of the oppressor and there is no comforter. What is honest men to do. Yer cant live m this city (Wellington) through the action of landlords and then they pollute every source of decency, put their tongues m their cheek and demand more rent. The bosses wife reminds me of one case- where a landlord took a hand, there'was a week of rent due, the; ten-» ant Was a poor woman whose husband was up country looking for wor-, rik. Well Mr Landlord 'brought up a cart to the door and carted out everything that was m the house, then the scoundrel noticed a saucepan on the flre, m this pot there was some dinner for the kids, yer landlord got his eye on it, foe grabbed it and looking round with a sweet smile he took a daily paper out of his pocket, and spread it on the hearth. emptied the contents pn to it then threw the pot on to the cart. Landlords are all the same, they have made the world a wilderness — look at Ireland, look at Scotland look, at Emgiland, there is no such" exibition ; on the face of the earth. Ireland has been destroyed, her people scattered to the four winds, of heaven, Scotland and England the same. For- what ? Only to satisfy the lvelish greed of the landlord, so they are a greater pest than the seven plagues of Egypt. Now yer must know that me and t the bosses wife are at the horible condition of life that the landlord' creates with hellish rents, he compels women to become prostitutes, children to become . larikins, men to become bludgers so that he can get more rent-. Yet this dirty creature marches to church often with a big bible under his arm, pHrances up to the communion table and scoffs t-he whole of^the wine and then goes.hdiuo thanking God that he is not as other men. As a rule he is a business man. Yer boyanger is a. different cove lie earns liis money, no raise pretences, he Rives far more value- than he receives, yet strange to say although he (the' worker) creates all wealth . yor fat man looks on linn as a slave, yer boyanger never gets paid, only the wage of a horse. He has nothing after paying his rent and his tuckf er.' A horse, has the same wages. '.JIM -THE MILKER.
