The winner of the. A.J.C. Derby is a big chestnut/ by Wallace, out of •Bonnie Rosette, by Barcaldine—:Bonnie Rose. Last year he, ran a second to Boniform m the A.J.C. Breeders' Plate, but this season he. started off well by winning the Rawson Stakes m record time and defeating, among others, such champions as Collarit and Poseidon. On this form he was sorted' , out as- the best of good things for the Derby, /and the judg-, ment proved correct. He is' trained: by the Randwick mentor, J. Burton, who has had the hahdling of some pretty' good ones m his time, and few; trainers know more about the. game thaii 1 he does. Tie'Caulfleld Guineas i'lb'oks" to be a common "farm" for Mountain King. ! . .
