NORTH AND THE GAMBLERS.
TO THE EDITOK, Sir,*— l was pleased to sec your leader- on the ''•'Anti-Gam-blers" again* Before thfe Rev. J« J-. North and others of his kidney irave and rant (as you properly say, to get a cheap ad.) against the tobalisator, they want to look at home first.. Why, sir, m this little country town of Hastings, there's a prominent member of a Church who lends money at '40 per oent, and does not care what homes he breaks up, or what men he drives to ruin, and yet clergymen do not rave about him ; they take his illgotten money towards the Church ; they allow him to teach the young ideas how to shoot m the Sunday School, and they administer the Holy Sacrament to him on Sunday. Let* J. J. and all other J. J.s denounce this man, expunge him from the. Church, and then -we will think they are sincere. Till then they must be hypocrites. — I am, etc., READER OF "TRUTH."
