"Truth" v. Fullers.

At! Miramar last Sunday morning Pullers' met and defeated the representatives of this paper by twelve points to three. The teams left town by brakes early m the morning, and made a day of it. After a slight survey of the fields a dry ground was selected and the teams started play before a large and interested crowd of spectators. The first spell provided a very even go, and when thei whistle sounded for half-time the scores were even, both sides having scored an unconverted, try,. The second spell was a, decidedly willing tussle, and some very, hard play was witnessed by the spectators. The ''Truth" team held its own until close to the finish, but m the end the superior staying powers of the younger players m Pullers' fifteen became apparent, and three tries were rattled up m quick succession. The goal kicking on both sides was of poor quality, and on no occasion was the leather sent, over ; the bar. Pullers' forwards were superior m the scrum, and the majority of their players proved more nimble and active than their elderly opponents. Like the Victoria College Club, however, we claim to he able to play the game, even though we are defeated,' and the noble defence we set up appealed td the enthusiasm of the spectators. "Truth's" try was scored by Potts, as the result of a forwar/r rush, while for the winners tries were scored by Beck, Harris, O'Sullivan, and King. After the match the teams participated m a most enjoyab c outdoor lunch", and the afternoon was devoted to sports, concluded by a drive round the ! Oue^n's drive and home, via Island Bay. the enjoyableness of the outing, and a great many were cripples for two or three days. . A return match was suggested, but the old stagers aver that one game a season is more .than amjjlcu
