We know too much ! We know that all foods kill ! Chicago chicken (canned), and suchLike delicacies ! Meal from the mill, Whole wheat, half-wheat, * Nay, even simple maize : Can sap our vitals if of it we eat;!) Salmon hetrays ! : Tomatoes do likewise ! Each hour some fellow dies Because he has "partaken- of" a crab, Or has received a stab— ! A lethal thrust— from coffee or from tea— •■'-■■ "'Heart poisons," both of them ; and just as bad For him as contents of the cadDt i s Scotch w.hiskv. cold or hot, "Silent" or "pot" ! The joint Does to the graveyard point ! In r brief , We- come fco grief , Whate'er we swallow ! So, Since we must s:o, Let us* go quickly ! . . Thus, for me Pray do not carve, For I nrefer, you see. To starve !
