NOT WANTED.
Two gentlemen paid a flying visitto Auckland recently whose names didn't appear with other, nincompoops m the precious personal columns of the dailies. Signor Andres Huertas and Herr John Iscra were their names. The former came from the bull-baiting country and the latter from Hungry, originally. They arrived just 'now from Sydney, voyaging on the Ventura, and the venture didn't turn out a success. As a matter of fact these distinguished foreigners were so modest and retiring that they didn't give the stewards any trouble "; indeed, so excessive was their retiring 'spirit 'that they didn't ante un their fares, hut just dossed m the hold until routed out by the officers' number nines. They came ashore at Auckland for the purpose of interviewing:' one of orr leading
citizens, Kettle by name. iAi little question of stowing away occupied their mutual attention on Monday. The Magistrate awarded a month to Huertas, but the Spaniard naturally preferred the alternative of a return trip -to Sydney. There wa,s no option about his pal. Not knowing the lingo the company were bound to carry him away or forfeit a hundred quid for introducing; an undesiraible immigrant. So the. cobbers sailed away Sydney-wards on Monday night, no doubt badly impressed with Maoriland's hospitality to tourists.
