A TINY TERROR.
Clifford Collins was charged at the Police Court on Tuesday with breaking and entering the store of W. H. Kobb, at Henderson, and stealing therefrom goods to the value of 16s lid, also with placing obstructions on the railway line at Henderson, m a manner calculated to endanger the lives of passengers:, Wftilo the Magistrate's clerk was reading out the terrible charges the eyes of the onlookers were engaged m searching the; court for this . desperate criminal. At length he was
discovered standing, not m the dock, but at the solicitors' table, and lo ! Clifford Collins,
BURGLAR AND TRAIN WRECKER turned out to be a wee little kiddy, 10 years old, ragged and barefooted, but with a sharp, bright face fit for a picture. Police-Sergeant Hendry told Mr Dyer, < 5.M.,. how the boy's father was over 1Q and was married to a young; woman who neglected Clifford. He had been out m the bush by himself and all efforts made by a search-party to catch him failed until Monday. The Sergeant expressed astonishment that the exposure to the wet. and cold had not killed the boy. The Magistrate eventually decided to send the child' to the Industrial -School, and Clifford trotted off alongside a - bobby big enough to eat him without showing the swelling.
