Uncouth, Uncourteons Scot and His Blood-stained Boodle.

Mother Mary Joseph Aubert, Mother Superior of the Sisters of Compassion, whose concert last week netted £400 m aid of the incurably afflicted, wrote to that blood and bone foundryman, Andra Carnegie, ye ken, asking for assistance m building the hospital she has so nobly planned at Island Bay, which is to be a refuge, oh the completion of the wing now rising, for incurable children; but when the whole building is completed— which the Venerable Reverend Mother and all who have the honor of her acquaintance hope will be m her lifetime—will have space for all sick children of both sexes. The revered lady knew that the snuffling Scotch - Yankee hum^ bug was giving away, enormous sums yearly, out of his ill-gotten gains, for the purpose of supplying and building libraries all over, the world ; and she rightly reckoned that her work was better and more acceptable to Christ than 'all the libraries m all the earth ; so she was heartened to apflly to the pawky, millionaire sweater for assistance m her grand aims. The vulgar employer of armed force to shoot down m droves his sweated toilers, has never had the grace to answer the good lady's appeal . Unlike that other rogue and bloodsucker, "Standard Oil" Rockfeller, who nobly— turned down the corner of the Rev. Mother's circular and re-addressed it to her !— the ill-bred Scot absolutely ignored the request. When Carnegie is m Hell his punishment will be that all the pQor, lame and sick children, all the homeless mothers and all the widows and orphans of those who were murdered at his demand by U.S. troops, will dance around him and pile all the libraries he bought with his stained bloodmoney, on the chest and belly of him, always crushing to awfullest agony, but never killing, his miserable soul. One such institution as that to which Mother Mary Joseph Aubert has devoted her holy life is worth all the libraries on the face of the earth. Yet this hypocritical Scotch sweater and vicarious murderer ignores her claim while he advertises his own "goodness," by dropping useless libraries over the face of creation like cow-claps disfiguring the fair face of a field of white clover.
