Fullers' Entertainers.

Remarkable business has been done at this show all week, an empty seat being' a rarity. The cnief attraction of the week" has been ,I>he. really artistic and brilliant turn of the "English Rosebuds," four pretty and clever Sydney girls who have deve- - loped, a «ong and danco quartet act that it would' be impossible to improve on by any imported talent, and it is a pity the management branded, these graceful and. dainty iassci "English." Why not give credit where it is due ? These talented giSrls need no adventitious aid to make their remarkable turn .attractive. Miss Ethel I/eslie's "Out oh th« Deep" is one' of the gems of the who \v and the. contralto star adds dignity and grace, as well as vocal quality, to the show. Ern'Erti is ,a vtmtriio- - quist of. no mean order, and Ward Lear's Chinaman is' a convmcor. The whole, programme is a credit to tho management and artis ts alike. Last night the house was literally packed and the weight-lifting contest amongst local aspirants to fame/ promoted by Lex McLean, proved very excitine., Victor \ Martin proved the, winner, putting- up with one hand 95|11js. Added excitement was caused by the fierce challenges and countcft-ch&llen-ges between an individual known as • , f 'Sandow" and Mounier. and the former and McLean, whom he wished to wrestle. McLean .-repiidiatect any I claim to wrestling fame, 'but Mr Ben Puller, -.on his behalf-, challenged j. " Sandow' ' to lift', weights against McjLean m right,; left and two-handed I lifts for a fiver a-side, McLean to allow "Sandow" lOOlti m the. aggreIgate. As ''Sandow." funked one appearance, last evening, it \tfas .stipulated that the contest should bo a private one. It is probable that further competitions will be announced for either next Thursday or Friday. ?vening.
