WOMEN’S COUNCIL. This year the annual conference of ’the National Council of .'Women will he held at Christchurch, and the Provincial Council Chambers have been secured for the meetings, which will be held in the first week in March (says the Delegates from Auckland,' Wellington, Hamilton, Dunedin, and other centres will be present, and important subjects relating to the welfare of women and children are to be discussed. Mrs J. Cook, president of the federated councils, will preside. During their stay in Christchurch the visitors will be entertained by Mrs C A Frner, Christchurch president, and ‘member* of the Christchurch branch.
